You can get to Vatican by:

BUS: Bus 49 that stops in front of the Vatican;  Bus 32, 81 and 982 that stops at Piazza del Risorgimento

METRO: Line A (direction Battistini, Ottaviabi or Cipro Station)

TRAM: Tram 19 that spots in Piazza del Risorgimento.

Vatican is closed on:
  • Sunday (except the last Sunday of each month)
  • January: 1, 6
  • February: 11
  • April: 10
  • May: 1
  • June: 29
  • August: 15, 16
  • November: 1
  • December: 25, 26, 31
Each museum may have temporary or extraordinary closing days.

Vatican opening hours are:

  • From Monday to Saturday: 09h00 to 18h00 (last entrance 16h00)
  • Last Sunday of the month: 09h00 to 14h00 (last entrance 13h30)

From May to October the following must be taken into consideration:

  • Friday: 09h00 to 22h00 (last entrance 20h30)
  • Saturday: 09h00 to 20h00 (last entrance 18h00)

Check your ticket detail information to verify the need to swap it for a paper tickets at the entrance.
